+What does the 6-Year Medicine Programme involve?
  • The entire programme is taught through English and is six years in duration.
  • The first two years of the programme are focussed heavily on pre-clinical areas, with the focus shifting to clinical study for years three to five.
  • In the final year, there will be a year-long internship in a local hospital and completion of the state exams is also required.
  • Upon completion of all requirements over the six years, students will become a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and obtain a master’s degree.

+The 4-Year with BSc Degree Graduate Entry Medicine Programme
  • CIU accepts applications for the 4-Year Graduate Medicine Programme from graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in a science-related field.
  • The programme is accelerated with students completing a six-year programme in four years.
  • The CIU faculty teaches all modules in English with the course commencing in Year Three of the undergraduate programme.
  • CIU graduate students complete largely clinical rotations during their studies with an emphasis on foundation knowledge plus specialist training opportunities and sitting state exams to qualify as a Doctor of Medicine.

  • Study Medicine Europe (SME) facilitates exclusive clinical rotation opportunities for Georgian university students to undertake international clinical rotations for up to three years.
  • The rotations at medical facilities in the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK are coordinated by SME who match applying students to the location based on their programme and preferences.
  • To apply, students must directly submit the following to SME:
    • Application paperwork (the facility, the department name, the duration of the rotation, and their CV).
    • An official authorisation of their application from the coordinating university Professor of their medicine programme.
  • Offers to the clinical rotations are strictly limited due to the specificity of the rotations and matching these to the programmes with SME therefore basing offers on order of application and accurate matching to the university plus preferences.

+Admission to Caucasus International University
Applicants must provide the following information:
  1. An application which includes the following details: bio, education history and course for which you are applying.
  2. A copy of your secondary education results with subjects studied.
  3. Documents from your home country confirming that you are authorised to study in Georgia.
  4. Two small photos of 4-5cm.
All documents need to be translated into Georgian to satisfy state directives.
+What is the Graduate Entry Assessment Process?
  • SME facilitates the application and entry to Graduate Medicine Programmes in Georgia for graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field with no entrance exams for successful applicants.
  • SME Assesses applications to the Graduate Programme with the following steps:
    1. Completion of the due diligence process on behalf of the medical university
    2. Comparison of the transcripts of the students from their past studies with the study programme of the medical university
    3. Submission of the comparison for approval to both the respective ministry of education and the medical university itself.
  • SME exclusively offers the 3-Year or 4-Year Graduate Entry Medicine Programme on behalf of their partner universities for students who meet the entry requirements.
