Serbia has a mild continental climate with cold winters and warm summers. Students studying in Serbia have the opportunity to take part in winter activities such as skiing as well as summer activities such as hiking and waterskiing. In winter the country is blanketed in snow, especially in the countryside, but usually the winter is mild especially in the cities. Summers are warm and sunny, Spring is known for the colourful flowers that bloom all over the country and Autumn has the country coloured with beautiful shades of red and brown.
In winter average temperatures during the day are between 7°C and -3°C with the rest of the year ranging anywhere from 15°C to 30°C. It is usually colder in the south due to the abundant vegetation cooling the climate whereas the cities tend to be slightly warmer. Students take advantage of specific excursions that are available during different times of the year, whether that is travelling to a neighbouring country to spend time on the beach or to go skiing on nearby mountain ranges.
