European University, Georgia – Concerns

Georgia is becoming more and more popular among aspiring Doctors but it does not come without its pitfalls. Through our regular reviews of Universities, it has come to our attention that various “companies” that represent, market and promote European University in Georgia, are withholding vital information from prospective students.

  1. European University is NOT on the GMC’s list of accepted Universities in Georgia (Click HERE for the full list of GMC accepted universities in Georgia).
  2. The Medicine course at European University falls embarrassingly below the GMC’s required threshold of 5,500 Clock Hours consisting of a total of only 4,807 Clock Hours. This means that anyone with a Degree in Medicine from European University, will NOT be able to register with the GMC (The details of the Clock Hours can be found HERE).
  3. European University has had its accreditation revoked in the past by the Authorization Board of Institutions of Higher Education in Georgia which restricted the admission of students to the University for 3 years (Click HERE to view the Ministry’s decision).

At Study Medicine Europe, we continuously review the registration requirements of medical councils around the world to ensure that our existing and new partner universities meet these requirements. You can, therefore, rest assured that the information you get from the SME Team is accurate, factual and up to date, enabling you to make the right decision when it comes to choosing your University.
