Having obtained their Occupational Health, Indemnity Insurance and Disclosure & Barring Service checks, the first students joined the Orientation Day held on August 16th 2021. They then started with a 6 week rotation in Internal Medicine (Cardiology, Respiratory, Radiology, Endocrinology) which will be followed by 3 weeks of General Practice (Family Medicine). They will then continue for a further 6 weeks of Surgery rotations (Musculoskeletal, Trauma, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Surgery).

During the rotations, students will be provided with 40 hours per week of practical teaching on ward rounds, teaching in classrooms for at least 3-4 hours per week and self-directed learning under the supervision of the NVU UK Faculty staff. Three NVU Professors who are based in Essex: Dr Gupta, Dr Raj and Dr Godwin, have been assigned to teach the groups throughout the first 6 weeks of their Internal Medicine rotations.

At the end of each rotation, students will participate in OSCE exams and the UK Faculty staff will sign off both their Student Books and their Attendance Register Books ensuring that all the requirements have been met.
